I am confused. I know that the bible states that we should give 10% of our total income for tithe. My husband and I together make a very nice amount, and 10% of that amount my husband doesnt argee with giving. He is not nearly as close to the lord as I am and he wasnt raised to give and serve lord first. I have no problem with giving to the lord first. My husband has a hard time with offering that money because he thinks its risky and that the money could go to other things. It really bothers me. I keep thinking that the lord is going to curse our family because he does not offer. My grandmother has been in and out of the hospital, since ive married my husband I have become overwhelmed with illness.2 car accidents have left us without vehicles. We finally purchased a new vehicle only to have mechanical problems. I truly feel that the lord has cursed us. In malachi the bible talks about robbing the lord and i honestly feel like my husband is. I was married previously to someone just as religious as myself and we always gave to the lord before any of our bills were paid. We never had money troubles or health problems. I have prayed that the lord would open my husbands eyes to understand where i am coming from. I know that he doesnt believe in tithing the way i do because he wasnt exposed to it or he just simply has no faith. So I am asking brothers and sisters if you would pray for my husband to see the lords plan with tithing . He rewards those who are obedient and serve him first. Thank You & God Bless Mrsb

Hi Mrs. B, I have been in the same situation as you described. My husband is very new to the Christian beliefs and lifestyle. My humble opinion, if I can share it with you, is that God is not cursing you. At least my God would not be cursing you. Perhaps you may not receive the blessings that are in store for you if you and your husband did tithe the 10% (before taxes) but again, I don't believe He is cursing you. Would your husband object to giving 10% of your income only? I think and feel that God is more disappointed in the person that believes we should give 10% (like you and I) and doesn't than He is with the individuals that don't believe like our husbands. Just my belief. I will pray for your husband and mine. : )

Dear Mrs B, I would like to share with you my husband and my point of view...He and I were discussing this at great lenghths at one time. At one point I did not give my tithe and incurred the same difficulties as your husband..and my husband told me that I was robbing from the Lord. He told me that I needed to give my 10% and even though he explained I too was having difficulty giving that money. Once I decided to give my 10%, I still have the same bills and make the same amount of money and the Lord has allowed us to look forward. Maybe not in ways we want him to give to us...but by doing this my husband explained to me that what a blessing it was to receive from the Lord the following gifts...our health, our life, our salvation and the mobility to move around and do the things he wants us to do. When you put it in the bank of earthly goods...you receive no interest..but when you place it in the bank of the Lord..the blessing overflow. By the way my husband makes minimum wage and with Gods help...we make it...Praise God!
