I am having a hard time today. Yesterday my best friend died. He may have only been a dog but he was my best friend. We are not sure what happened. But I feel sooooo angry. I am angry and I dont know what to do. I know that God has his reasons. I know that God has a plan even for animals but it hurts. I am so angry! I Dont want to be an angry person. I know that Brownie is better off in heaven but it hurts. Pray that I find my way. Pray that I let go of this anger. Pray that I find some type of acceptence.
Thank you so very much for all your prayers,
Audrey Webster

Audrey,

I'm so sorry about your dog. It's hard to lose a pet... especially a dog. They are so sympathetic to their owners they seem almost human. They are what the Bible describes as "nephesh" - soul-ish creatures. That's why we bond so well with them.

Don't feel bad about being so attached I actually thought about my own dog just yesterday, and how attached I've become to him in just a year. I remember thinking "How will I feel when he passes away?" It's only natural to grieve for that "member of your family" who has experienced so much with you. Anger is also a natural response. That's to be expected. Allow God to love you through this hard season.

I know EXACTLY what you're going through. Unfortunately, we had to put our dog to sleep the last day of February this year. He was still "all there" for lack of a better term, but his hind legs just wouldn't work for him anymore bless his little heart.

He was a 13 year old Doberman Pincher that had been with me since he was 6 weeks old. Talk about a breaking heart....I've had him longer than I've had my husband or child! He was the sweetest, most gentle dog in the whole wide world and I miss his little face I could just cry talking about it.

People who lose a special pet go through deep grief because these cute little bundles of joy have always greeted us with enthusiasm and unconditional love....which is hard to get from most people! :-) They are there for us day in and day out, through rough times etc.

I will be praying that the pain in your heart will heal soon, I know you'll never forget, but time will lessen the pain sweetie.

Hang in there!
Your Friend in Christ,
Mary
