My Grandmother Olivia Barragan is 76 yrs. old and lives in McAllen, Texas. She was told yesterday she has Dysphagia. This is an illness not a disease. Dysphagia is difficulty in swallowing. It occurs when food fails to move from the mouth to the stomach because the mouth, throat or esophagus is not working properly or due to a narrowed pathway. Depending on the type of Dysphagia treatment may include use of a feeding tube. We are praying for another alternative. She will be going for a second opinion later this week. Thanks for your prayers!
