Here are the details to date: The event is called Community Night. We will serve a dinner beginning at 6:30 at a cost of $5 per adult. The video segment will be shown on the large screen at 7:30 pm. Small groups will discuss the session around tables. There will be childcare provided up to 5 years. If you would be interested in serving as a table leader (guiding discussion) please call myself (George Fike 523-9085 x250), Pastor Miriam Callahan (523-9085 x226), or Hil Huysman (523-9085 x201)

I'm still waiting for the season of Wednesday night drought to be over. I enjoyed the Gathering so much and I pray that God will allow for it to start up again. I don't see why he would not want another night with his kids.

Just tring to figure out what is going on with the Wensday Nights worship. I have been in my walk now for a year and one thing that trouble me is that Sundays services are geared toward to lost and unchurched wich is all fine and all but I liked wesday services were geared toward our walk in christ and the worship was also recharging in order to carry me on for the rest of the week. Dont get me wrong but I feel we need to get into gods word first and put christian studys on other days. Hope I did not hurt anyones feeling but I need help on my walk with the lord. Also one thing that realy troubled me was my wife was starting to attend wesdays services and then we stopped real bummer for our family. HELP US OUT PLEASE

Please don't misunderstand me: this is not a definitive answer. That being said, the Gathering, as we knew it, has served its purpose, but at this time would it hinder many of the other wonderful things God has begun doing. Most of the church property is in use every night for mid-sized groups and ministries too large for houses. There are plans being made for special gatherings in 2008 for worship and fellowship, but not on a weekly basis. We take the needs of BRCC very seriously and are making every effort to provide what is needed for all who call BRCC home to "be-the-church" in our world. With only so much time and space, the task is formidable. Some of your needs can be met in other venues, such as 'Celebrate Recovery' (you know, it's really just what we used to call 'sanctification'), Men's breakfast, Girls' Night Out, the Remnant, Singles, DivorceCare, not to mention the numerous small groups that meet in homes. There are serving opportunities with children and teens on Sunday and Monday nights. Rick Turner has done a fine job teaching the basics of the faith with the Alpha Course on Tuesday nights. The Gathering was my favorite service as well. IF we had the space and time available I would love to be part of that kind of gathering again. Unfortunately, that time is just not here right now. But I'm as busy as ever with all the opportunities God has opened up in the last several months. I hope you will find some joy in them as well.

I certainly hope the Wednesday services start again soon. There are still many of us who work weekends and really need a full Wednesday service. The learning sessions are nice but they really don't replace a good service.

Unfortunately, there are no plans for bringing back a full service on Wednesday evenings. We have tried to accommodate those for whom Wednesday IS their weekend service by having worship as part of "BirthRight." We will also have 5 "Communion" gatherings on Sunday evenings 5 times a year, the first of which will be on March 16th. What was the Gathering is no more; it served its purpose, but for now the church has other needs that take priority.
