Back in June @ the Gathering we talked about ‘Being still and listening to God’. During the service we were still and Pastor Fike mentioned that God could come to us in a feeling, vision, or show us something physically. Well during that service, I experienced something that I had never felt before and I need help b/c it totally disrupted my head. Let me give you a quick review of my situation. Back in April of this year my engagement to a great woman ended b/c of my actions and words. I turned to God shortly after for help to change. Well, he changed my world and I am now in the challenging and exciting role of being a Christian. However, my ex fiancée does not want anything to do with me and I haven’t spoken to her since early June. Back to the Gathering service. During the service we were to ‘Be still and listen’. I did just that and I experienced something that I never have. God spoke to me in a vision. I saw the following: a wedding veil, sheets of paper covering the face, me tearing the sheets of paper to reveal the face, seeing my ex fiancées face, then the words ‘AUGUST’ appeared in bold letters. After seeing the vision I felt in my gut that God was telling me that getting her back would require patience, would be a challenge and his perfect timing would be August. Well, several weeks past and I heard nothing. (she and I don’t keep in contact anymore). I examined the vision even more and thought maybe AUGUST meant next august, and every time I think that, something in my gut tells me ‘no, this august’. I know I should be patient and wait, but it is so scary waiting for something that may not come. I have doubted what God showed me and it makes me confused of my relationship with him and how to know what he shows or tells me. It’s about to be August and having not seen any improvement with my own eyes frustrates me. And I do know that God does work behind the scenes but I do know my faith is not yet strong enough to put my worries in his hands. What can I do? And how can I know if God truly showed me that vision or if I made it up in my own head, even though I know it was him? IF THAT MAKES ANY SENSE.

In my teaching at that service in June, you might remember an important part in learning to listen to God is to spend a lot of time reading His Wrod, the Bible. When we have learned to listen to God in His written word, it helps us to know for sure which voice we are listening to. What has God been speaking to you about in the Bible passages you have been reading? Have you sought counsel from mature believers?

I encourage you to call me at the church office (523-9085). We could spend some time praying about your vision and testing it.

Pastor George helped me in dealing with this vision I saw and I thought I should share his insight with whoever is going through this or has ever gone through this. Regardless of what I interpreted from God’s vision or from my own imagination I must put my focus on the Lord. Our God is an awesome God and he does everything in our best interest. So, regardless if anything does or does not happen it is God’s plan for me and I will accept it with open arms. When we put are focus on the Lord he will fulfill our hearts desires and he knows what we truly desire and need in our hearts. Nothing or no one is worth sacrificing our relationship with ‘OUR FATHER’…

Thanks again Pastor George!
