One of several paradoxes I struggle with, both back in my nonbelieving days and still... Rather simple, but I'm curious. So we have everything we need, want and love in heaven. But if we have loved ones who haven't accepted Christ... but we love them... and if we have everyone we love with us... but they haven't accepted Christ.... See my confusion?

The Bible says there will be no more sorrow in heaven... that God will wipe away every tear. It also tells us that "now we know in part; then we shall know even as we are knowm." Again, "No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him." Our ultimate happiness will be found in our unhindered union with God, something we have waited for all of our lives. It's hard for one to imagine how one could be happy if "my soulmate who doesn't know Christ can't join me in heaven." But the Bible promises that heaven will be a place of joy for believers. It is, as you say, a paradox - an apparent contradicton, the possibility of which can only be seen by changing your vantage point. The advantageous perspective is to "renew the mind" (Romans 12:1)and get in God's lap to get a better look (Galatians 3:1-4). This is a very difficult question, so it can't be settled with a simple answer. And it would be tragic to settle for an easy answer. We'll be thinking this through with you and will share more in coming days.
