Hello. I am Laurie and I attend regularly. My prayer is for my beautiful soul mate Steve; that God's spirit will move mightily in him and bring Steve to the cross, as He has done with me, so that Steve and I might grow in the Light and knowledge of the love of Jesus Christ our savior. I am asking you as the leaders and body of saved believers to pray faithfully to the Lord that He move His spirit through my soul mate and life partner and bring him to the full knowledge and obedience of God our Father, (so that together we may serve our Lord and instill His love into our children and grandchildren to come, as well as our neighbors). There are deep sins and scars and wounds and hurts and bondages in his life - as there have been in mine until I recently started to clear them all away. I grew up in 'the organized church' and it was a complete turn off to me for many of the same reasons "church kids" will tell you that they initially rebel. As a result, salvation never fully sunk in until recently (I'm 46). I have been reading The Bondage Breaker and working the steps to freedom outlined therein. God is moving mightily in my life as a result and I have come to a new and greater understanding and acceptance about who I am in Christ and what His cross means to me. This is great news!!! Finally "getting it" is a huge step in my life to say the least. My prayer is that God's spirit will stir in Steve and open his eyes and ears, put away his pride and self-reliance and those things he is in bondage to, so that he can be humbled and saved (and that we can grow together as a partnership in service to God). This is my fervent request of you, my prayer to the Lord, and my greatest hope. In Jesus Christ I ask you to pray in faith with me. I would love to meet with Dave or one of the pastors and talk about some things - but I never get a response from anyone. I have many questions I want to ask about how to reach out to this man that I love and share my life with. I have been attending since last August, and I've signed up for things, etc. Yet no one has ever called me or offered to come over and visit or welcome me or anything. I don't hold that against anyone of you (LOL) but I would really love to connect with the pastors here. I've briefly met Doug but that didn't go anywhere. I am reaching out and asking you to show me the caring body of believers that you are. Please. And please pray with me. IF you will do that, I KNOW that it will happen. God is faithful and I believe He is going to straighten out Steve's and my lives.........but as He instructed us, I am reaching out and asking us to join together to ask for the desires of our (my) hearts. Thank you.

You can imagine the difficulty the pastors have meeting all the needs of a church the size of BRCC. A lot of people would like to meet with one of the teaching pastors, since they are the most visible members of the staff. But unfortunaely, the three of them would have the impossible task of personally caring for at least 1000 people each! And I did say, at least. If you add in the other pastors on staff, you will see the ratio is not a lot better. This is one of the reasons "organic connection" is so important. As you connect with other attenders, you will find a network of friends, many of whom share the same experiences as you. How do you connect? You can volunteer for many entry-level ministries like the First Impressions team. If you have an interest in music, BRCC has a choir that rehearses each Sunday at 5:30 pm and participates in about 1 service per month. You can get involved in the Women's ministry. They have quarterly conferences, as well as an outstanding retreat each year. Steve can find other guys to hang out with at our monthly men's breakfasts on the 1st Saturday of the month. If you need to connect with a pastor for prayer, the best way is to call the church office and ask to speak to the "pastor-on-call." If one isn't available, you can ask to speak to Debra Lawton, and she can schedule an appointment with one of our Community Care pastors. I hope this helps. Pastor George
