Dear Pastors,

My husband and I are coming out of a charasmatic and very Spirit led worship. What is your church's beliefs and teachings about the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the manefestations of these gifts of the Spirit? We have visited your church on several occasions and believe your church to be very Spirit filled however, I have not seen anyone for example pray in a prayer language or other manefestations of the Holy Spirit. Please understand that I do not believe that these type of things are required for salvation or even baptism in the Spirit. I just want to understand where your church stands on these types of things.

Thank you
gfike

We believe that the gifts of the Spirit are operable today. While you do not see some of the ecstatic gifts in operation, many who attend do pray in a prayer language, and some members share with the pastors and elders messages which have often been prophetic. Our desire is to present the simple message of salvation with people who have never heard in a way they can best relate to it. We follow the guidelines for our worship that are presented in 1 Corinthians 14:12 - "So it is with you. Since you are eager to have spiritual gifts, try to excel in gifts that build up the church."
