As always, Sunday's service seemed to be written for me.  Here is part of my assignment.  I'd like to be part of a camping group.  I go camping once a month anyway with Boy Scouts so I know some good places.  There are lots of logistics that would have to be worked out, but first of all, is anyone interested.  It is hard for me to consider myself a missionary when I have had an inconsistent relationship with Christ, but maybe this would help me to be a better follower.

Camping Group sounds kind of interesting to me.  My husband and I have enjoyed camping in the past but it's been awhile.  I too have strayed off the path from time to time and my husband is new to the Christian life.  Keep posting information as it comes together.  Thanks!

The Men's Ministry is offering a father-son camping trip at Palmetto State Park October 13-15th.  Details will be posted under Ministries/Men.

I am glad to see there are a few people interested.  Wouldn't nature be a great place for a Bible study?  I have been to most of the State Parks in our surrounding Hill Country area, and some that are not so much in the surrounding area.  With this gift of rain we have had lately, maybe the burn bans will be relaxed.  Since they are having a campout to Palmetto in October, why don't we shoot for November?  I am sure Lost Maples will be booked up but I'll check.  If anyone has kids (I have 2 boys),  bring 'em along!  Pull the xbox cord and get them some fresh air!
See you all Sunday!

With regard to Pastor Georges post, dont let the lack of a tent or camping equipment stop you from joining us.  Many of the guys, including my family  have several tents.  The weather is nice enought that a pillow sheet and a blanket can serve as bedding.  Just be sure to have bug repellent, change of clothes and toiletries and come on out!  Dads and other men please join us Saturday  October 7th for Worship Word and Fellowship where will will eat, sing and discuss our plans for the trip!

I'd be interested as long as there are single people --- not just couples.

Greetings and Many Blessings -

Count me in on any camping trip.  My friends laugh at me because everytime I open the trunk of my car the camping gear is already there.

I too am single and would be more interested in joining other singles for a trip to the great outdoors.

Inks National Park is a great place to camp and hike.

Have a great day.

Yeah, my brother is always talking about Inks Lake, he loves it!  As far as 'singleness' is concerned, I am a single mom, so you wouldn't be the only ones.  Lets come up with a date and a place, I was thinking Nov. 10th, how does this sound to you all.  I have a state park pass and could book a place, but we'd all need to pitch in some for the site reservetions. It can get pricey depending on the numbers of people.
Your friend,
Joni

This sounds great,  Count me in! I have two big tents that will sleep 4 each and lots of other camping supplies.  I think the Mens camping is late October.  November would be a great time to go!

My husband and I are interested - we love the outdoors, but are just getting into acquiring camping gear. I know that we are going out of town Nov. 10 but let us know what weekend is decided on. thanks! I am excited.

I'll have to check with my husband to be on the safe side  , but we have loved camping in the past. November would be a great time to go camping, should be cool by then. Let us know.

Misty

I am going to book 2 campsites, (8 people each) for Inks Lake November 10th and 11th.  I can book more if the need arises.
We'll work out the meal and supply details soon.
Is there anyone with Bible study experience that will step up to the plate on handling a Bible study of some kind?  Let's make this a spiritual outing.
Thanks,
joni

Oh boy...sound like fun to me.  Love camping, have my own gear and I am also single.  I love the outdoors and I am all for a bible studing and the sorts, but just as much in fellowship, but not too "religious".  Willing to be on a committee to help the planning.  Can be reached at dlladvocate@aol.com.  Probably can round up a few more folks for the fun and fellowship.

Hey everyone,

I need a good count on who is coming and what you may need in the way of supplies (I have a fair amount).  It would be a good idea if we all carpooled as much as possible for gas expense reasons.
Here is a basic needs list:
personal first aid kit, clothing-optional, just kidding , rain gear, water bottle, flashlight, matches, sun and bug protection, sleeping bag, sleep pad or cot, tent, mess kit- plate, cup, utensils, toilettries, book of faith.
As far is food is concerned, I am willing to hear suggestions.  For breakfast on Sat and Sun I was thinking something easy and no cook like muffins.  Lunch on Sat could likewise be easy, no cook like sandwiches and Saturday night we could make foil meals.  Ideas anyone?I can be grubmaster and get food supplies when I get a count.
You all hit me back.
Thanks,
joni

Estimated time of departure? 6:30 or 7:00 Friday or would you all rather just drive up Saturday a.m.?

Is there still room for more campers?  I'm interested & would like to bring my 8-yr.old granddaughter, if possible.  Haven't been to Inks Lake in years, so any info you have on it would be appreciated.  Feel free to call me.  Thanks.
