Please check out the listed web site, particularly the part about the dogs living under the bridge. There must be 8 people in San Antonio who could foster one dog each until they're spayed/neutered & able to be placed in permanent homes. When the dogs are ready for adoption, they may be placed on a web site dedicated to rescued dogs in foster homes.
At the present time, I'm unable to take in fosters, but the sad, soulful eyes of these dogs are pleading for help. Please find it in your hearts to help, if at all possible. If they go to the city pound, it's almost a certainty that they'll be killed. Thank you. Here's the article:
BestFriends.org recently put out a call to the SA rescue community for a volunteer editor to maintain a website for San Antonio and the surrounding region. The site is a place for posting news items, information resources, links, creating forums etc. There are over 250 other communities on the Best Friends' site, dedicated to virtually every aspect of animal advocacy, covering many different geopgraphic and political regions. The Best Friends team is impressed with San Antonio's recent progress towards no-kill, and hopes this forum will give other communities across the country access to our experiences, so that others can learn from our successes and failures as it were.
I volunteered to be the editor for the SA Community, and the site is now up and running. Here is the link.

I'm listed as texas4step on the Best Friends site.

For those who are unfamiliar with me, here is a brief blow-by-blow of my animal advocacy experiences. Been an independent rescuer in SA for several years with few to no resources, joined the outrage when the Express-News expose came out, monitored CPR since then.
· Deployed to NOLA last year, came home w/a rescue who kept me virtually home-bound until this spring. Spent the Fall and Winter on the internet trying to match Katrina Founds and Losts.
· Worked briefly at ACS washing dogs for Adoption Center until stories of diseased animals got out.
· Have worked briefly with Emily Leech at CPR fund-raising outreach events.
· Started working ARC monthly clinics this past spring and continue to do so.
· Live now in Medina County, read recent news story out there about HART, the county's no-kill that had been mismanaged, now under new leadership and in dire trouble, jumped in and am now part of that new leadership.
· Answered the call by Best Friends through CPR to be editor of a new SA-region network.
· Work as photographer and video editor, recently shot photos of Under the Bridge dogs and have been part of effort by Stephanie Sepaugh, Rosie Garza, Shari Parker, Jan Suche and others to rehome them. Am available to shoot photos of other rescue orphans.
· Owned and expertly managed by 2 rescue cats and 2 rescue dogs, and wouldn't have it any other way.
Check out the link when you have a little time, and by all means, send me your feedback.
