We don't just ride Harley's at BRCC... some of us pedal!
Looking for other ROAD BIKERS in the BRCC community who would enjoy riding 25+ miles in the evenings and/or on weekends.
I have the "Gift of Party" and am happy to organize rides on a regular basis. A Bicycle Small Group??? The possibilities are endless!
Let's Ride! Terri

Hi my name is Veronica. I love the Lord first of all. I love going for rides in the hill country. I have been a passenger for over 2 yrs. I am waiting to get my own bike. If you do get a small group to ride and if you know of someone who has had a passenger and would not mind having one to go on a ride, will you let me know. I am ready with my helmet and googles ready to feel the wind and sun on my face. God Bless and take care.

Veronica, thanks for your reply. I think maybe I didn't make myself completely clear... We are talking bicycles here, not motorcycles. I am assuming that is what you meant since you said "have been a passenger". There are some other groups out there on this site that you can find that ride together. Again, thanks!

Terri, Has there been any more thoughts to the rides? I am a cyclist and am always looking for someone to ride with. I live in Leon Valley. My family and I have been to BRCC once so far, but I don't think it will be our last. Please let us know more about the bike riding. Randy

Randy, good to hear from a fellow cyclist! I have had a lot of hits to my message but no real replies until you. There are a few of us who get together to ride on various days of the week. We are varied in ability, so there is almost certainly someone to ride with!
My email address is tcollier@c-ftool.com. Please email me and I will give you some more info about our rides. We usually meet up at Roger Soler's or Starbucks in Leon Springs and ride from there.
Come on back and check out BRCC some more. It is an awesome place... like no other! Let me know when you are going to be there, and I will see about meeting up with you so you know someone there.
Look forward to hearing from you!
Terri

JAY! Would love to have you ride with us. We are pretty serious, some more than others, and we have a wide range of abilities. We can work on the distance. Email me, and we can talk some more.

Hi! I was excited to read your post! I use to ride three times a week between 16-30miles a day. However, since I stopped riding with that particular group...I found it difficult to find a new group to ride with. I live out here in Helotes, and went on a few rides on my own but quickly found that I wasn 't challenging myself enough, not to mention the danger of riding alone. I haven't ridden seriously in about a year but I'm ready to get back into it. I'd love to hear back from you.
Thanks!
Christa

Hey, Christa! Glad to see your message! I live in Helotes, also. I have been riding alone a lot, too, and I am not crazy about it. Currently, I ride an average of 15-16 miles per hour on a 30 or so mile ride. My husband is much more advanced, so he could give you more of a challenge if you need that.
We are doing the Hill Country Challenge Century ride this weekend, but will back to it next week. I will contact you and maybe we can get together and ride next week. My email is tcollier@c-ftool.com. You are welcome to email me there to make a plan!

Terri, I am sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to this thread. I am still interested in getting together and doing some riding. Since my last post, my family and I ahve been to BRCC another two to three times and have really liked it each time. We are looking for a new church home and the list is getting shorter. I have not been riding consistently for a while so it may take me a while to get back into the swing of it. But then, you know what they say about riding a bicycle....you never forget. Anyway, I will try to email you soon and see if we can set up a ride. Maybe I can convince my wife to join us as well and our 8 year old daughter. We have a trailer bike we hook onto my seatpost so she can ride too. Let me look at our schedule and I will let you know. Randy (shortran)

Terri, Hi! I just visited the BRCC site for the first time with the message board. I have responded to a few items but hesitant. Anyway, I read the responses on this one and I liked the enthusiasm and less intimidating comments. My husband and son have done the MS 150 and are a little bit more experienced with bike riding. I on the other hand haven't been on a bike since 18-19yo. I want to challenge myself by getting a little more serious with this. We only have mountain bikes at home and none of them are mine. 2 belong to my husband 2 belong to our oldest son and 1 belongs to our middle son. Do I need a road bike or can I use a mountain bike. Eventually if I can I would like to ride to work 2-3 times a week. That is about 16.2 miles one way. My supervisor is great with it, but I don't know if I can honestly do it. My goal is to start a routine and hopefully get a little more stronger out it. I need to finish something good! Anyway, I don't want to bother you with too much but if you could lend some advice and a schedule I would sincerely appreciate it. Sine

Well...I don't have a bike, but I would be happy to be a SAG unit if y'all needed it. I have a Ford F150 Supercrew for those that can't make a 25 mile jaunt and would take them and their bikes to the "finish" should they not want to continue. Just a thought.

Hopefully when the weather gets warmer and the time changes, we can start riding. I can ride road or mountain!
