If anyone knows of a verse, book, or prayer group that i can attend to keep me on the path to healing, i would be so grateful. i did sign myself and my child up for divorce care. My husband is a sex addict and despite all of my efforts, recently filed for divorce. I had encouraged him to attend the men's group at brcc but he is still lying to himself and others about his addiction. He has already entered into another relationship as well. if there is another christian woman who has found the comfort of God in all this please forward an encouraging word or two. thank you and god bless you!

I too went through the agony and dispair you might be feeling. Divorce care will definetly help!! I attended and found it very supportive. When I was confronted with my worst nightmare (unloyal spouse), I was filled a multitude of emotions (too many to list). I begged and pleaded with God to make it all go away, but He only kept giving me hints about the truth surrounding my husband and his affair. It was very apparent what I was to do. Divorce is something God does not like, but unfaithfulness to one's spouse is going against the law of God. I cannot tell you what to do, no one can. But you do know the One you can trust, the only ONE. When I finally accepted the truth and decided on divorce (I could not live with someone I did not trust), I went to the Lord very desparate and screaming, "Why can't I hear you? What do YOU want me to do? I am going to open the Bible with my eyes closed, and wherever it opens to, I will put my finger on the page, and I will read." The Bible opened and my finger landed on Psalm 121. Believing in whatever the Lord has planned for me, the Psalm passage, divorce care, the poem "Footprints in the Sand", and my children were the things that gave me strength to keep going. He does have a plan for you (and your husband). Trust it no matter where it takes you.

I want to encourage you to attend some of our Women's Ministry meetings.Girl Talk is Fri 8-8-08 7pm-9pm.We are having a seminar on Sat 8-16-08 8:30am-12...both are in the Hub. My healing came from the word our Father gave us,family support and finally my fellowship with the women's ministries. It takes time to get through the anger, hurt, betrayal, etc. You will get there...and remember that all of these feelings and emotions are part of our natural life(which are also from satan) and we have to go to our higher power and get to the peace and security that our Father has promised us.Read Psalm 91 and hide in his secret place for your healing.Remember "by His stripes we are healed" spiritually, physically, and financially. You said you had a daughter...how old is she? Mine was in the Navy and early twenties and it was tough on her but she is ok now too. Hope to see and meet you this coming Fri evening. God Bless you both and thank you from the bottom of my heart. it's so easy to believe satan's lies and feel that you are alone but thanks to your responses I was reminded of the hope that's in our savior. I would love more than anything to come to the meetings this weekend but i have to work. is there another study or meeting i can attend? thank you!
