Not much heard from the Harleys to Hondas Group, however I recieved an e-mail about a ride that went on this past sunday. Because there was no service, Katie Boggs, took the opportunity to organize a bike ride. This is Her Story. "Wow! What an awesome day we had. We started a bit late in order for everone to get to the meet point. Didn't want to leave a biker behind! We had 11 bikes and 16 people at the start point with one more couple to pick up in Bergheim. From ther we went North to Edge Falls Road,a pretty little country road through ranches to Kendalia. From Kendalia we went North on Crabapple Rd. OMG! We won't take that road again! It had been resurfaced since the last time I rode it and it was nothing but loose gravel and we were all fishtailing the entire road. It was awful!!! We went real slow and I have to say I was glad to be in the lead cause I heard stories of all the pebbles flying behind. But remember....it's roads like that that make the good stories;-) We got to Blanco for lunch to find the Restaurant I knew to be closed. Deuce saw a little Mexican place that had room for all of us so in we went. Four bikes/6 people had to leave at lunch and the rest of us headed into Wimberley for dessert at the Wimberley Pie Co. If you haven't had their pie you are missing out! Had a little sprinkle of rain while there but not enough to cause any problems. From there we rode the Devil's Backbone and stopped to take pics at the scenic overlook. By now it's hot and Deuce's youngest was chomping at the bit to get to Gruene and get in the water. We rode River Road into Gruene. The water levels were just amazing. In many places the water was to the edge of the road and I think most of us were thinking we would ride right into the river at any time. Got to Gruene, got something cold to drink, and the kids and one adult decided to get into the river and get cooled off, jeans and all. Ok, the adult didn't get completely wet but enough to be nice and cool for trip home! After more good conversation and stories it was time to head for the house. A few hit I35 to blast back and the rest of us rode Hwy 46 back It was a wonderful day spent with great people and great roads with perfect weather. It was fun to get to know all of you ever better and I thank you for letting me lead you on the ride. I am already thinking of where to go next. So many roads to chooose from." "Till next time...... Keep the shiny sideup. God Bless you all Katie" THANK YOU KATI, IT'S ALWAYS A GOOD RIDE WITH YOU AT THE FRONT SETTING THE PACE.
