So talking about community is different than having it. People that
love Christ have a two callings. DON'T forget this... it's so important
you must tattoo it on your face...
Our 2nd calling is to do stuff for christ.... ex. HR manager at some
company, working at Starbuck's as an employee, leading worship at a
church, going to a church, listening to people, reading the bible,
creating things like art or music... these are giftings God gives us-
to do stuff for christ... But sometimes people make that their first
calling.
If our 2nd calling is to do stuff for Christ our 1st calling is to Christ Himself.
At the New Rebellion, this week, we are seeking to return to our first
love and understand the importance about our love for Christ and how
that love fuels our life.
When I was in Austin, Vicky Beeching- a UK Soul Survivor artist with
Matt Redmen and Tim Hughes, told me about sharpening and ax:
"You can get three days worth of chopping trees down done with one
sharp ax than with a dull one. The energy and intelligence is the
same... but returning to the sharpening stone, God himself, Jesus
himself, the Holy Spirit himself, fuels us and sharpens us."
We are going to sharpen with the stone. So come to experience this
radical movement God called us to, named the NEW REBELLION. At the New
Rebellion we understand that our capacity for ministry is relative to
our daily worship of God.
