Oct 16. 2006 Just to let everyone know...
We don't have an age limit and you can bring your children. So technically our small group would fall under miscellaneous
on the small group sheet handed out during the weekend services. This
post is due to the overwhelming response about our group and were we
fall under. We are connected to the Loop. Doug Robbins is overseeing the leaders of the group, and we are all connected to BRCC.
Most of the people comeing are younger but there is no AGE LIMIT or
cap. Last week we had someone that was retired come to The New
Rebellion Small group. This group may sound Huge... and it is. We don't
have fifty people that like to hear what we talk about... We have 10 people
committed to living out our lives in community for Christ. We love
being the chruch. Somepeople have come and gone due to moving out of
town but we are all consistant for the most part.
About worship: Most
of the time we choose to have Song and we get loud. Sometimes we
journal or write poetry. We sing new songs in a way where we allow the
spirit to speak and move us in a new direction of worship... during
this time new verses of song may rise up and we all sing it. Mostly our
worship is organic. Sometime we write worship songs as leaders just for
group time.
About Prayer: Sometimes one
person leads a prayer (traditional), sometimes we Pop corn our prayer-
which anyone can pray for as long as they want one at a time, Centering
prayer- it is facilitated so that one person guides the group into a
moment of silence to rid ourselves of the business of our busy lives...
to focus on upward, Poetry prayer/ Written prayer- we write our hearts
out to God and share praise and worship... stories about our lifes...
or poetry tailored towards Christ. We pray for each other. We lay hands
and pray.
About Our Study Topics: We
cover a wide range of topics and ideas in for our study and community
time. Relationships, prayer, worship, love, rebelling, True community,
We study each othere also... by giving stories of our lives and being
real the dirty truth along with the holy truth. We talk about spiritual
warfare, and defense agaisnt satan and curses.
WE HAVE A NEED... We
have already ran out of chairs to sit... and now floor space is
limited... We don't want to have 2 bible studies on diffrent nights but
need a larger venue. We are not starting a new chruch... but BRCC is
full on Thursday nights with the music ministry. WE MEET at
10:00PM Thursday nights at 9821 camino villa apt 423 san antonio, tx
78254 We are located off bander road one street light from BRCC headed
towards 1604. The apartment complex is called Bandera Crossings.
