///////COMMUNITY PROJECT UNDERWAY///////
!!! NEWS UPDATE: The New Rebellion
small group (college and beyond) has commited to volunteer in
helping to create a Sacred Space within our community. So far FIVE potential
vacant lots have been identified. They are mostly near Braun Road but
only one will be chosen. Two of the owners have been indetified but the
remaining three are unknown. We are going to have the city help us find
out if it is city owned property.
Q: What is a Sacred Space?
A: A community project to restore and bueatify a vacent lot near BRCC.
Q: Why should I get involved?
A: The community around can see
how the church is connected to them in a
real and relavent way. It is also a way to love our community and "be the chruch". It will
show love the surrounding community in a long lasting and enduring way.
...A Sacred place is more than just worn steps. It is a place
that takes on the patina of life and faith. That is why even secular
places can be sacred... (it is a) sign that we are part of somehting
mystrious and much large than ourselves.
THIS PROJECT IS BIGGER THAN WE CAN HANDLE... we need your help!
If you or your small group would like to help please respond and
leave contact information. If you
would like to help fund this project or know of a business that would,
please leave your info here on the BRCC message board. You will be
contacted. or call 210.387.9975 or email johncanalesusa@yahoo.com.
In Christ,
John Canales

Check out www.bcad.org - click on "Property search" at the upper right.
Change the search type to address, then type in BRCC's address to get your map to the general area of Braun Road.
Then use the map tools to find the properties you're looking for; once you get to them, use the Info tool and that should tell you who they belong to.

John,
I live in Camino Bandera and I'm interested in learning more about this. My wife and I lead a small group in our home Sunday evenings. We've done some things over the past few years to serve our community, but this sounds like it has the potential to be a very worthwhile project. We love getting our kids involved in serving as well.
please contact me to get me some more info. Also it would be cool, perhaps to do one of the community/neighborhood things conjointly with our small group. Who knows, but certainly some promising opportunities to get connected and be the church to our neighborhood.
MySpace Profile: B & K (sorry dude, I'm just learning my way around MySpace and can't remember the URL)
