What does the verse say?
Paul encouraged his shipmates to eat some food, knowing that God had
promised to protect them all. So Paul promised the men that "not
a hair of your heads will perish". In the end, all of them
escaped the shipwreck to safety on shore.
What is God saying to me?
God promised to protect Paul and all who traveled with him.
Though there was not a "miraculous" rescue, the angel of God let Paul
know that God was protecting them. And he did. Lord, for
the times you have intervened and rescued me in "non-miraculous" ways,
I thank you. For the times you have spoken a promise that I could
sink my faith in, I thank you. Lord, use me to be an encourager,
like you used Paul to encourage his shipmates. I thank you for
being a God of encouragement. Praise God Almighty.
