Significant verse: 25:19
What does the verse say? As Festus took over responsibilities as governor from Felix, the Jewish leaders brought charges against Paul again. Instead of serious crimes, Festus noted the accusations were related to their religion and "a dead man named Jesus who Paul insists is alive".
What is God saying to me? The notion of the resurrection confused Festus. But the resurrection is the pivotal event of my faith. Father, I praise you that you raised Jesus from the dead. I praise you that you accepted your Son as a sacrifice for my sins. I praise you that Jesus' resurrected life secures my resurrected life. Lord, may all who hear about your resurrection believe in you. As Easter approaches, may the message of your resurrection give birth to eternal life in many hearts.
