Significant verse: 21:13-14
What does the verse say? A second prophet, Agabus, prophesied that Paul would be bound by Jewish leaders and turned over to the Gentiles if he went to Jerusalem. The people assumed this prophecy was a warning not to go. But Paul asserted that he was willing not only to be imprisoned, but to die for the sake of Jesus. When it was clear Paul couldn't be persuaded, the believers said, "The Lord's will be done."
What is God saying to me? Sometimes the Spirit miraculously lets us know what will happen in the future. At times prophecies are meant to change our minds about a decision or direction. At other times prophecies are meant to warn us of impending challenges we will face, just so we know the Lord is in control of the situation. Lord, I thank you for the times you have warned me of impending difficulties. I welcome the words of prophets who serve you and love you. Help me discern their words so I can know your will in all matters. It gives me comfort to know you are in control, even when the storms come.
