What does the verse say? Paul
spent time in Corinth preaching the word, testifying to the Jews that
Jesus was the Messiah. After receiving a vision, he spent a year
and a half teaching the word of God in Corinth. Apollos refuted
the Jews with powerful arguments in public debate using Scriptures to
show that Jesus was the Messiah.
What is God saying to me?
Preaching the word. Teaching the word. Debating with
powerful arguments. These believers used all of these speaking
formats to spread the good news. Lord, help me grow as a
preacher, teacher, and arguer. Give me discernment to know which
type of communication is right for each setting and topic. Expand
the borders of my influence as a speaker and fill me with wisdom and
power. For your kingdom's sake.
