Significant verse: 16:25-26
What does the verse say? After a severe beating, Paul and Silas were thrown into the inner dungeon and their feet were clamped with stocks. Around midnight, they were praying and singing hymns to God while other prisoners listened. Suddenly an earthquake shook the prison's foundations. The doors flew open and the chains fell off.
What is God saying to me? There is power in prayer and singing songs to God that can free us from the power of evil. When we worship, God feels pleasure. Sometimes he intervenes in our lives to open doors of oppression and loosen the chains of evil. Lord, I ask you to protect me from evil. Protect my family and my church. Open doors in my life. Loosen chains in my life. I worship you. You are the great and mighty One. You are all-powerful. Your love never ends. Your faithfulness continues like the oceans. Your grace shines like the sun. Bless the Lord Almighty and His Son, Jesus.
