Significant verse: 16:6-10
What does the verse say? Paul and Silas tried to go into the province of Asia to preach about Jesus, but the Holy Spirit prevented them from doing so. Then they tried to enter the province of Bithynia to teach about Jesus, but again the Spirit of Jesus wouldn't let them. Then Paul had a vision of a man from Macedonia calling out to him. So they concluded God was calling them to preach about Jesus in Macedonia.
What is God saying to me? Twice Paul and Silas tried to do a good thing: proclaim Jesus in new areas. Twice they were prevented from doing so, probably costing them time and money and effort. Even though these guys were full of the Holy Spirit and on a God-mission, they still wrestled with knowing God's will in God's time, just like me. And they didn't get frustrated because their plans didn't work out. They trusted God's Spirit to lead them. And He did. Lord, help me discern your Spirit's leading in my life. When a door closes, help me see the Spirit's hand in it all. Protect me from frustration with you or getting down on myself when my plans don't work out. Make your plans evident to me, and I will follow. Is there anything you want me to know today?
