Significant verse:  7:34

What does the verse say?  As Stephen recounted Israel's history as a part of his defense, he noted what God said to Moses when he appeared to Moses in the burning bush.  God said he had seen the oppression of his people and had heard their groans and had come to rescue them.

What is God saying to me?  God saw their oppression and heard their groans.  God responded to what he saw and the cries of his people.  Why did God let Moses know this?  Because he wanted Moses and all who heard to know that he sees and when people groan, cry out, pray with emotion, God hears.  Lord, there has been an issue in my life where I see oppression.  I know you see it, too.  But I feel like you're waiting for me to groan about it--to lift it up to you with emotion and anguish of heart.  Lord, I groan in your presence.  Please see and hear and rescue.
