Significant verse:

  5:3, 11

What does the verse say?
When Peter caught Ananias lying about money from a property he had
sold, Peter described Ananias as "letting Satan fill his heart".
When both Ananias and his wife died as a result of their deception,
great FEAR gripped the chruch and everyone who heard what had
happened.  And yet, the numbers of believers grew and healing and
deliverance from evil grew.

What is God saying to me?
I can let Satan fill my heart when I think God isn't God and I don't
fear God's ability to be God.  And there is a connection between
the fear of the Lord (recognizing God's almighty power and willingness
to act and judge unrepentant sin) and the power of the first
Christians.  Lord, is there any area in my life where I don't
really fear you--where I'm not afraid to sin and deceive people and you
and myself?  Lord, I repent.  I ask you to forgive me.
Purify my heart.  Help me to live with the right kind of fear of
you.
