Significant Verse: 19:35-37
What does the verse say? The writer of the Gospel (John) points out that the details of Jesus' death were recorded by an eyewitness. Jesus' pierced side and lack of broken bones also fulfilled prophecies made about the Messiah.
What is God saying to me? One of the reasons I believe in Jesus and follow him is due to the meticulous way the Gospel writers noted important details in Jesus' life, death, and resurrection and due to the fact that Jesus fulfilled so many prophecies, many of which he never could fulfill on his own initiative. So, I believe in you, Jesus. I follow you as the resurrected Son of God. Thank you for finishing the work the Father gave to you. Help me finish the work the Father has given to me. I love you and praise you.
