Significant Verse:  19:10-11

What does the verse say?  When Jesus wouldn't respond to Pilate, the latter said, "Don't you realize I have the power to release you or crucify you?"  Jesus replied, "You would have no power over me unless it were given to you from above."

What is God saying to me?  Even when falsely accused, Jesus acknowledged Pilate's power, but viewed it in the context of God allowing Pilate to have that power.  Lord, I sense you want me to accept those who end up with various powers and authority, even when they do things I disagree with.  I also sense you reminding me of the way I use my power and authority.  Any power I have, you gave me.  I should never be arrogant or selfish with my power, but use it for your glory.  That is my prayer.  Lord, show me if I'm using my power and authority in a way that pleases you.
