Significant Verse: 18:37-38
What does the verse say? Pilate asked Jesus if he was a king. Jesus affirmed his kingdom role and asserted his kingdom was about truth. Jesus said he was born to bring the truth to the world and all who loved the truth would recognize Jesus' words as truth. Pilate replied, "What is truth?"
What is God saying to me? Pilate's skepticism about truth reflects a jaded mind deflated by the moral corruption of his culture and his "king", Caesar. Lord, our people in my culture are wrestling with truth. They wonder what is the truth. Many seem satisfied with the belief that there is no truth, or if there is, we can't know it. Lord, help me speak truth with grace. And help me live truth with such conviction and purity of heart that others will hear my words and see my life and believe in you, the Way, the Truth, and the Life.
