17:21-23
What does the verse say?
On the night Jesus was arrested, he prayed for his disciples and all
who would ever believe: That they would be one just as the Father
and the Son are one--Jesus in them, the Father in him, all being
perfected into ONE.
What is God saying to me?
Lord, the essence of your oneness with the Father is reflected in our
oneness with each other. It's striking to me that an emphasis in
your last prayer was for our oneness. So Lord, I pray that prayer
for us. Make your followers one. Make the believers and
leaders and staff at BRCC one with each other. Let us be one with
believers throughout the world. Make our families one. Let
our oneness become like your oneness with the Father. Forgive me
for uttering critical, negative, divisive words against a
brother. Lord search my heart and show me any sins of
divisiveness. And Lord, show me ways to be an instrument of
oneness and unity and reconciliation between people.
