Significant Verse: 7:37-39
What does the verse say? Jesus told the crowd: "If you are thirsty come to me. If you believe in me, come and drink! For the Scriptures declare that rivers of living water will flow out from within." John then revealed that the "living water" pictures the Holy Spirit give to believers.
What is God saying to me? The thirsty find satisfaction in Jesus; by believing in him. Drink by believing. As Jesus continued the image, he pictured living water flowing out, not in. The gift of the Spirit not only quenches our thirst, but the Spirit of God by nature longs to flow out of us. Lord, thank you for giving me your Spirit. Fill me up. And let the Spirit in me pour out on others. If any sin or expression of little faith blocks the flow, reveal that to me so I can repent. Let the water flow.
