Significant Verse: 7:6-8
What does the verse say? When Jesus' skeptical brothers tried to talk him into going to Jerusalem for a festival and making a spectacular arrival so he could gain attention, Jesus refused saying his TIME had not yet come. It wasn't the right time. Though he eventually went to the festival, he did so secretly.
What is God saying to me? Time. Timing. Anxious. Impatient. Hurry. Resentful. Wait. Jesus not only had an awareness of his Father's will, but also of his Father's timing. Jesus faced numerous temptations to get ahead of his Father's timing regarding the Father's will. I feel like I struggle with this aspect of seeking God's will more that figuring out what God wants me to do. I get in a hurry. I'm not naturally a waiter. Lord, forgive me for my impatience and how that sometimes causes me to become resentful. Help me discern when I am impatient and when I am lazy or hesitant in pursuing your will. Test my heart and show me if I am not paying attention to your timing in my life.
