Significant Verse:  2:17, (19-21)

What does the verse say?  After clearing the Temple area of money changers, the disciples remembered the prophetic Scripture:  "Passion for God's house burns in me."  Passion for purity.  Cleaning house.  Then Jesus figuratively referred to his own body as a "temple".

What is God saying to me?  Jesus was passionate about maintaining the purity of the Temple.  He was also passionate about keeping his body pure, his temple.  Am I that passionate about protecting the purity of my body, my temple?  Paul called us "temples of the Holy Spirit".  I am a temple of God's Spirit.  Am I that passionate about helping others to purity their temples?  Lord, show me if I have tolerated impurity in my body.  Reveal if I've allowed sin to set up tables in my temple.  Purify my heart.  Lead me in your ways.  (Then I confessed any sins the Lord brought to mind, asking for his forgiveness and cleansing.)
