Subject: John 1:1-18, part two
Author: Brent Saathoff

Body:

Significant Verse:  1:12

What does the verse say?  All who receive Jesus, those who believe in his name, become children of God.  They become born by receiving through believing.  Destiny.  Born of God.  Believe and receive.

What is God saying to me?  Lord, i have not received all of my destiny because i have not reached out in faith.  We receive by believing.  That's not just true for salvation, but also for all the things you have for me.  Lord, I will do my part and believe.  Show me what you want me to receive.

Significant Verse:  1:14-17

What does the verse say?  The Father is full of grace and truth.  Jesus is full of grace and truth.  Out of his fullness we have received grace in place of the grace already given (ie - the grace in Moses' law).

What is God saying to me?  Father, you are full of grace.  Lord, you are full of grace.  Out of the abundance of grace you poured out grace on me.  Grace came through you.  Once i received your full grace, you want me to be full of grace like you.  Lord, fill me up with grace.  Help me to be full of grace towards others.  I forgive those who have wronged me.  (Then i prayed by name for people who wronged me that i could remember.)
