(On this first reading, since I led the audience to have a God Time 4 times this weekend, I had 4 God Times myself, so here's all 4.)
Significant Verse: 1:5
What does the verse say? In Jesus was life, and that life was the light of all people. And the light shines in the darkness and the darkness has not overcome the light.
What is God saying to me? Light initiates. Light invades. Light always wins over darkness. God wants me to take the light that I have and invade the darkness. People in darkness don't really want to be there. They want out. They need to know the way. You are the way. You can overcome. I will speak for you.
Significant Verse: 1:7
What does the verse say? God's desire is that through the light ALL might believe. No one is beyond God's love and desire. He (John) came as a witness to testify to the light so that through him ALL might believe. (Then I wrote the name of a person God brought to mind.)
What is God saying to me? Lord, I must pursue [name of person]. We're both so busy. But the onus falls on the witness to take the initiative. Help me and bless me as I seek to reach out to [name] with the light. (Then I prayed for that person.)
